General Manager Job, Curaçao Job Description
General Manager
Our client is a rapidly growing, forward-thinking hospitality and property management business redefining the Caribbean vacation rental market.
Operating across multiple islands, the company combines high-quality accommodation, smart technology, and exceptional guest experiences into one seamless offering. With significant expansion underway in Curaçao, they are now seeking a talented General Manager to lead and scale operations locally.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting leadership role at a pivotal stage of growth.
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the Curaçao operation — overseeing an existing portfolio whilst helping to drive expansion to several hundred properties over the next few years.
This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role where you will be directly involved in both operational delivery and strategic growth. You will act as the local leader and brand representative, ensuring the business continues to scale successfully while maintaining exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Guest Experience
- Manage a portfolio of luxury apartments, villas, and condo properties
- Deliver consistently high standards of guest service
- Oversee front desk operations and day-to-day service delivery
- Maintain visibility across all properties and operational performance
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and inspire a growing operations team
- Build structure and accountability within the team (e.g. site leads)
- Support training, performance, and team development
- Foster a positive, service-driven working culture
Growth & Business Development
- Support the expansion of the portfolio from ~100 units to 300+
- Build strong relationships with homeowners and property developers
- Identify and secure new management opportunities
- Represent the business within the local market
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Manage key relationships with third-party service providers
- Ensure quality, efficiency, and value across all supplier partnerships
- Act as the main point of contact for local stakeholders
Leadership & Problem Solving
- Take ownership of operational challenges and resolve effectively
- Act as the senior escalation point on the ground
- Balance day-to-day operations with long-term growth priorities
About You
We are looking for someone who is both operationally strong and commercially aware, with the ability to lead from the front.
Experience
- Proven background in hospitality, property, or related sectors
- Experience in a senior operational or management role
- Strong understanding of guest experience and service delivery
- Experience managing teams and driving performance
Skills & Attributes
- Hands-on and proactive mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and organisation
- Confident, credible, and client-facing
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Digitally confident (Excel, systems, booking platforms, etc.)
Additional Requirements
- Fluency in English essential
- Dutch language skills highly desirable
- Papiamento is a plus
- Valid driver’s licence
- Right to work in Curaçao or ability to secure this
