Senior Quantity Surveyor

A highly regarded international developer is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing development team responsible for delivering a portfolio of prestigious hospitality, residential and mixed-use projects.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the full commercial function across complex, high-value developments while working closely with senior leadership and project delivery teams. The Opportunity

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial success of multiple development projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, procurement management and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Working directly with senior project leadership, the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for protecting commercial interests, maximising project profitability and supporting the successful delivery of luxury construction developments from pre-construction through to final account settlement. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all commercial and quantity surveying activities across multiple projects.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets and cost plans.
  • Producing monthly commercial and cost reports.
  • Monitoring project expenditure, commitments and cash flow forecasts.
  • Preparing and negotiating subcontract agreements and supplier contracts.
  • Managing procurement processes and tender evaluations.
  • Assessing and agreeing variations, claims and final accounts.
  • Preparing interim valuations and payment certificates.
  • Supporting project teams with contractual and commercial advice.
  • Managing commercial risk and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Working closely with project leadership to maximise commercial performance and project profitability.

Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within quantity surveying, commercial management or construction cost management.
  • Strong background in high-value construction and development projects.
  • Proven experience managing contracts, procurement and cost reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of contractual administration and commercial risk management.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within hospitality, residential, mixed-use or luxury developments would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to operate independently while supporting wider project teams and senior management. 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional memberships and industry certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency with commercial reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
