About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Marine Manager to lead the operations of a luxury marina. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and knowledgeable Marine Manager with a passion for boating, customer service, and marina operations.
The successful Marine Manager will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the marina, ensuring exceptional service standards for yacht owners, captains, residents, and visitors. This is a hands-on position requiring a visible presence throughout the marina, working closely with staff, customers, and contractors while maintaining operational excellence.
Working Hours:
Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (6 days per week)
Key Responsibilities
As the Marine Manager, you will:
- Oversee all marina operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional service delivery.
- Manage and support marina staff, dock attendants, and external contractors.
- Provide outstanding customer service to boat owners, yacht captains, and visiting vessels.
- Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, berth allocations, and occupancy levels.
- Build strong relationships with yacht owners, brokers, captains, and marine service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, marina policies, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of docks, marina facilities, equipment, and utilities.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and infrastructure improvement works.
- Manage fuel dock operations and marina inventory where applicable.
- Prepare and manage operating budgets and financial reports.
- Monitor marina revenues and expenditure while identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
- Assist with invoicing, collections, and financial reconciliations alongside the accounting team.
- Maximise berth utilisation and occupancy throughout the year.
- Support marketing initiatives aimed at attracting both transient and long-term vessels.
- Liaise with homeowners, guests, local authorities, and contractors.
- Respond effectively to operational issues, emergencies, and severe weather events.
- Deliver agreed business objectives and performance targets.
Experience & Qualifications
The ideal Marine Manager will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing or supervising marina operations.
- Extensive knowledge of yachts, recreational boating, and marina facilities.
- Strong understanding of Caribbean cruising routes and seasonal yacht movements.
- Proven financial and budgeting experience.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using marina management software would be advantageous.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Marine certifications or boating licences would be considered beneficial.
