As the Finishing Supervisor, you will have a strong eye for detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a hands-on approach to managing subcontractors and suppliers. This is a pivotal role in delivering polished, defect-free finishes that align with client expectations and project timelines.
The Role of Finishing Supervisor
As Finishing Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise daily finishing operations and guide the site team to meet project targets.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and monitor progress against jobwork contracts.
- Set daily goals for finishing crews and provide feedback on performance.
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Manage procurement and installation of finishes in collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to align schedules and budgets.
- Review architectural drawings and specifications to identify potential issues early.
- Implement client-requested changes or site-driven adjustments with minimal disruption.
- Finishing Supervisor will conduct final inspections of finishes, identifying and resolving any defects or incomplete work.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in supervising architectural finishes on construction sites.
- Strong understanding of finishing materials, techniques, and quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Skilled in planning, scheduling, and tracking progress against project goals.
- Building regulations and health & safety standards.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing site conditions.
- Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate installations.
- Attention to detail during inspections and final handover stages.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Carpentry Certification, Bsc in Construction) are desirable.
